Asmodee is back at Essen SPIEL 2024 with an Exciting Lineup of Tabletop Games, accessories and more!
Boulogne-Billancourt, France—September 19, 2024—Today, Asmodee, a leading entertainment company specializing in tabletop games, announced its participation to Essen SPIEL, taking place in Essen, Germany from October 3 to 6.
As one of the premier events on the global board game industry calendar, Essen SPIEL draws hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts, families, and media from around the world. Catering to every type of player, Asmodee will present a selection of its most highly anticipated titles for late 2024 and early 2025.
One of the most eagerly awaited games of the year is LEGO Monkey Palace from Dotted Games studio, the first title born from the collaboration between the LEGO Group and Asmodee, set to make its worldwide debut at Essen SPIEL, an early bird micro expansion will even be available to grab at our shop. The hit trading card game Star Wars™: Unlimited will also be showcased at both the Asmodee and Gamegenic booths, with Gamegenic providing premium accessories for the game. Visitors will be able to enjoy demos and exclusive signings at these booths!
Exciting other game demos and exclusive premieres await Essen SPIEL visitors
• Star Wars™: Bounty Hunters and Survive the Island from Zygomatic, The Mandalorian: Adventures from Unexpected Games, Harmonies from Libellud, and Tree Society from Next Move—all newly released titles—will be available for play at the show.
• Asmodee will present Superstore 3000, Perspectives Blue Box, and Inori from Space Cowboys, as well as Fairy Ring and The Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle-earth from Repos Production, all making their debut at the event.
• A dedicated booth will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ticket to Ride®, where players can buy themselves exclusive Deluxe train sets.

• Many more of our own published games and games from our valued third-party partners will be featured at the Asmodee booths.Several signing sessions will take place throughout the four days of the event:
• The designers of LEGO Monkey Palace will be signing games on October 5th.
• Vincent Dutrait, the artist behind Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle-earth, will be there on October 4th.
• Star Wars: Unlimited designers will be present throughout the 4 days of the event to chat with attendees, sign cards and host Designer Duel. Fans can even bring their own deck to challenge them!
• The designers of Altered, the highly successful crowdfunded TCG launching in September and exclusively distributed by Asmodee, will be present in the Hall 1 both on Gamegenic and Asmodee booths.
Plenty of opportunities for players and fans to get their games signed and meet their favorite designers and artists!

Essen SPIEL also provides an ideal setting for game designers, both industry veterans and newcomers, to connect with Asmodee studios and internal creative teams. It offers a unique opportunity to present their concepts to our sourcing specialists, who are dedicated to discovering the next standout titles. At a typical Essen SPIEL, our teams are meeting with more than a hundred different designers and can review even more prototypes. We anticipate SPIEL 2024 to once again be a hub of creativity, with innovative ideas and exceptional designs on display.
As part of its CSR commitments, Asmodee will actively participate in Educators Day and the Spiel.talks, with a focus on sustainability. Our CSR team will highlight several key initiatives, including Game in Lab, Asmodee’s funding program for game research, featuring a dedicated conference titled “Games Imagining the Future,” presented by Dr. Chloé Germaine and Dr. Paul Wake. Their talk will be held on Friday, October 4th, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM. They will discuss their research on how board games help young people express ideas about climate change futures and the development of a methodology for a large-scale project supporting the game industry’s climate transition. Additionally, Access+, our studio dedicated to adapting iconic games for players with cognitive disabilities, will launch in Germany later this year. Join the Access+ team during the Educators Day conference on Saturday, October 5th at noon, and explore the studio’s full range of offerings in Hall 6.

Monkey Palace: An Exciting First Game to Kick Off the Partnership
Originally announced earlier this year, Monkey Palace is a wonderful demonstration of how integrating LEGO bricks into board games can provide remarkable play value. The game was created by game designers David Gordon and Tin Aung Myaing and provides family fun for all ages. It is a jungle-themed game of light strategy tailored for two to four players, incorporating both collaborative and competitive elements.
In this first game, participants are invited to compete against each other while helping the monkey rebuild the Monkey Palace. Players must cleverly build their way upwards, creating longer and taller staircases to get bricks and banana points in this innovative and strategic building board game. With no single route to victory, players will always want to play again!
Monkey Palace will be available to buy globally following its worldwide debut at Essen Spiel happening October 3, 2024.
Brick Like This!: A LEGO Party Game From Dotted Games Already in the Works
On the back of Monkey Palace, Dotted Games has been developing Brick Like This!, a family party game where the key words are teamwork, communication and building with LEGO bricks. The game is for 2-8 players for ages 7+ with simple rules for everyone to join in.
